And it grieved Him at His heart.
"And it grieved Him at His heart. "
Genesis 6:5-22
"And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.
And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them. But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD."
God sees the heart of man as nothing but full of evil thoughts and imaginations. And it grieves Him.
Truly, as corrupt as the thought of the heart of man is, he will never put God first in all his thoughts on what to do even though good. It will always begin with "I", or "I will". This is the basis of all evil thoughts in man. And it breeds a lot of evil and terrible sins before God. (Isaiah 14:12-15, Ezekiel 28:12-17).
It is still very prevalent today and God is watching and looking and waiting until the day of His return just as in the days of Noah. But He can never be left stranded. As the Creator of man, He has His own whose heart He has kept perfect and upright before Him.
This is what He did to Noah. He found grace in God's eyes and there is a reason why he found grace before God. It was because, during his days when corruption was extremely intense, he chose to live upright and perfect before God.
He walked with God and refused to trivialize his uprightness. He was focused, he never compromised nor surrendered to pressure. God was pleased with him and kept him and his family for Himself unto deliverance and salvation.
Not only was the earth filled with corruption, but it was also filled with violence as it is today. Such that there was no one living in righteousness, truth and holiness except Noah. And when it got to this point, it brought forth God's wrath and judgment.
Hence in these last days and perilous times, God's judgment and Christ's soon return is imminent. Noah's event was a foreshadowing of what is to happen in this present age. And it will be more terrible than the days of Noah. May God help us in Jesus' Name.
Corruption is found everywhere, in every location, in every sphere, and every environment. Even in the church of Christ God is grieving today as in the days of Noah.
He spoke to Noah and made a covenant with him to save him and his household. And gave him a ministerial task to build the ark. God did it for a purpose, to bring His judgment.
There is also an essence to why Noah had to build the ark. It was to keep him busy before God in service, to avoid external distractions, to work on him unto patience, maturity and to build him and prepare him for the ark of salvation.
Many a time a divine task given to God's servants is their ark of salvation if properly handled with care, fear and trembling before Him until His day appointed unto reward. It pays to build and grow in Christ Jesus in service.
God as a God of orderliness specifically gave Noah sound instructions on how to build the ark, the measurement, length, breadth, and height of the ark. In doing God's work, it is imperative to heed His instructions in order to avoid any error that may bring disqualification.
God was very grieved with man in that, He had to tell Noah the number of animals and beasts that would join him and his family in the ark. (Luke 14:21). May God not replace us in Jesus Name.
This is a sign of what is to come in these last days. Which implies those who will enter into the Kingdom of God are the least qualified ones. May His Bride not disappoint Him in Jesus' Name.
After He spoke to Noah, he didn't deviate from all that God said to him. He did as he was commanded by God. But today many have gone astray, many have compromised, many have gone toward the way of the world, and many have left their task and duty post to do their own thing.
But Noah worked and never left doing what God commanded him to do until the day of the Lord came and He destroyed the earth. May we not be caught unaware like the five foolish virgins in Jesus' Name. (Matt. 25:1-13).
God's Loving Heart.
