"And it came to pass." Genesis 4:1-8. Genesis 4:6-8 - "And the LORD said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen? If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him. "And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him." He was wroth because his offering was not accepted and his countenance fell as a result of envy toward his brother Abel. His ego was altered before his brother's face and he began to nurture how to eliminate him. Cain didn't carry out his vicious act against his brother overnight, he actually nursed it for a while. Because the Word says, "and it came to pass", which means, he had planned it before he made it happened. He was already caught up in the web of envy and contempt towards Abel his brother....
