"Wherefore Ye Look So Sadly Today?".

Wherefore Ye Look So Sadly Today?

Genesis 40:1-23.

Genesis 40:7 - "And he asked Pharaoh's officers that were with him in the ward of his lord's house, saying, wherefore look ye so sadly today?"

This is the spirit of love and compassion in the man Joseph. He overlooked his challenges, whilst others' was his concern.

His painful trials worked the virtue of love and humility in him. His experience made him very sensitive to people around him. Moreso, he was very gentle, meek and a good listener to those in distress. He was a burden bearer.
And you cannot be a burden bearer the Lord's way if you have not gone through some unpleasant and an unexplainable adversities in life.

Here was Joseph a man broken, and battered with hatred, rejection, sufferings and spurned unjustily, then thrown into prison without given an opportunity to prove his innocence of the false accusations leveled against him.

In all, his love for others grew so strong and also he became irresistible and well-favoured.
When God will your sufferings for His sake to prune you, it is for a purpose and for your benefit, the more the adversities, pains and afflictions, the more you are endued with His very love and grace. He will love you so much and love through you.

Tribulations and trials allowed by God, grants you His kind of wisdom and intelligence. God blessed Joseph so much with His presence and glory. And He used him to manifest His perfect wisdom to Pharaoh's officers. And Wisdom beyond man's wisdom, is who God is.

The measure of Him (Love) in Joseph paved way for him at the right time and at the right place. First in the prison, then in the palace - this signifies that God is everywhere, there is no place he cannot manifest Himself and His glory.

Sometimes, after much woes, and groaning within, one may be tempted to look up to man for help like Joseph did when he asked the chief butler to remember him by expressing his innermost pain and sorrows. That was a prevailing prayer, and God heard him and enforced it instead of the butler. (Gen. 40:13-14).

He never knew he was close to his breakthrough. It is at the time of your deliverance that you travail much in agony. It is a very dark hour and moment, which can bring God's attention and swift intervention at His perfect timing.

Genesis 40:23 -"Yet did not the chief butler remember Joseph, but forgat him".

After Joseph ministered to the officers and they got result according to each of their dreams.
The butler forgot Joseph when he got to the palace.
This is always the norm, many you have helped are the ones who will forget you too soon. Not to worry dear saint, you sowed a seed for the right timing to harvest at God's own time.
It is not usually where you sowed that you reap, it is where you least envisaged that God rewards you.

Let's not put our hope in man nor in those God has given us the privilege to help thereby expecting from same people in return. Look away to God, do your best and let God say thank you to you in His own way.
All our deeds and actions are on His record. He sees and knows everything about us because He is the Alpha and Omega.

Therefore beloveth saint of God rest on His word which says - "And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not".

God's Loving Heart.
