"If I Perish, I Perish" - A Priceless Virtue.
"And If I perish, I perish" - A Priceless Virtue.
Esther 4:15-16 -"Then Esther bade them return Mordecai this answer,
Go, gather together all the Jews that are present in Shushan, and fast ye for me, and neither eat nor drink three days, night or day: I also and my maidens will fast likewise; and so will I go in unto the king, which is not according to the law: and if I perish, I perish".
There is something so priceless God put in Esther that was going to turn around her destiny for eternity which will give glory to Him forever. And that thing is "If I perish, I perish"
God put this in her for His good purpose and at the right time He was going to place a demand on it from her. It's a great virtue, unique spiritual gift, priceless, only meant for a very few people.
God knew Esther from the foundations as one who will be willing to give up her life for her entire nation and for His sake. She had so much love for God and for her people.
And It takes one with this God kind of love to be sacrificial and selfless. She forsook, pleasure, fame, wealth, position, title and recognition, all for God and for her people.
She was ready to die to save an entire Jews and she was ready to forsake the throne for the sake of truth, love, and justice. She brought honour, and glory to God.
She was also a vessel of gratitude:- She was mindful of her humble beginnings, and maintained her relationship with her uncle till the end.
She remained respectful and grateful to him. She was very loyal, steadfast and an uncompromising vessel, just like her uncle Mordecai.
She took up the bold step and broke protocols just to achieve one purpose for God and for her people and that goal was salvation and absolute freedom from oppression and slavery.
She was not expecting any reward but death from man and reward from her God if He so wills was what her word which implies, 'If I perish, I perish".
If it was some today, self-love and fear will so hinder them that they will tell you the history of their suffering before attaining the throne and now they want her to loose the only opportunity she has as a queen. And might even lock up and with stern warning to her servants never to return and tell her such again.
Some may even look for a much easier way based on man's ideas that will bring self glory to themselves and not to God. Mostly through crafty and deceitful means.
But for Esther, hers was a suicide mission and she cared less for her life but much more for her people.
What a noble and earnest service she truly rendered!
Beloved what is that thing, that part of God, He has put inside of you which He might require of you at His appointed time?
Seek His face fervently in prayer and you will surely find and become who He has destined you to be in Jesus Name.
Receive divine revelation and insight to see it in you and may God reveal to you in Jesus Name.
Shalom!
