"For the LORD seeth not as man seeth".
"For the LORD seeth not as man seeth".
1 Samuel 16:5-7 -"And he said, Peaceably: I am come to sacrifice unto the LORD: sanctify yourselves, and come with me to the sacrifice. And he sanctified Jesse and his sons, and called them to the sacrifice.
And it came to pass, when they were come, that he looked on Eliab, and said, Surely the LORD'S anointed is before him.
But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.
Acts 5:3-4 - But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land?
Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God.
Whenever we come together before God in our churches and ministries to fellowship, praise and worship Him, He is not looking at our attendance, nor our punctuality, nor our personalities, nor our outward presentations and outfits, nor our gifts and generosity. He searches through our hearts and looking at our inward disposition and character before Him in doing all of these.
He is not even moved with our dancing and shouting during praises yet despising others in our hearts like Michal which He sees. (2Sam. 6:16)
He sees the secrets of our heart which no man can see not even us because He alone knows us more than we know ourselves, no matter how we try so hard to be real before men just like ELIAB. Yet He sees a heart like ANANIAS and SAPPHIRA.(sees deceit, falsehood, lies and hypocrisy). (1Chr. 28:9, Acts 5:3-4).
And many are busy seeking for the applause of men with their outward disposition full of pretense which some are even unconscious of. Whereas God is seeking for those whose heart is perfect before Him. (2Chr. 16:9a).
Luke 21:1-4 -"And he looked up, and saw the rich men casting their gifts into the treasury.
And he saw also a certain poor widow casting in thither two mites.
And he said, Of a truth I say unto you, that this poor widow hath cast in more than they all:
For all these have of their abundance cast in unto the offerings of God: but she of her penury hath cast in all the living that she had".
The good Lord is looking for a heart that is very much like His own very heart in spite of how the person looks like before men. (1Sam. 16:7b).
He is looking for a heart like His in respective of our status and standards, all He wants is a heart that is totally dependent on Him like the poor widow.
The poor widow depicts one who is poor in spirit before God, who sees himself as one having nothing but in God possessing everything.
He is looking for a chastened and conscience stricken heart like the widow who will reverence Him with the whole of his life and living. A heart who will cast all his cares upon God alone.
A heart who will empty himself of all things this world can ever give which would have made him half dedicated to Him or not even dedicated to Him. A heart who is completely empty of selfhood before God.
Only a pure heart wholly given to God can enter His gate with thanksgivings and enter His courts with praises of a sweet smell, and a sacrificial heart acceptable and well pleasing to Him. (Ps.100:4, Eph. 5:2, Phil. 4:18).
God is looking for a honest and sincere heart who will worship Him in Spirit and in Truth. (John 4:23-24)
Lord please, let our hearts and all that we are not be an abomination to You which may bring Your anger and wrath upon us instead of mercy in Jesus Name. (Acts 5:5).
May the state of our hearts not bring Your rejection and disapproval upon us oh Lord God! (1Sam. 16:7a).
Lord please by the Holy Spirit, crush out all that is of self out of us at the Cross of Christ for Him to be formed in us and in our hearts completely Jesus Name.
Please Lord, purify our hearts before You with Your refiners fire continually in Jesus Name. (Mal. 3:3).
